Delivering change: measuring the difference with e-Aspire

e-Aspire and Charms

e-Aspire is our unique system which helps by holding information, to the highest levels of confidentiality, about the needs of the children we help, the targeted services we deliver and our effectiveness in making positive change. Our Charms system similarly supports our work in fostering and adoption and we also use other local or national systems to manage our work.

Clarifying need and agreeing targets

Many of the disadvantaged children and young people we support have complex and challenging needs.  We ensure we understand these from the very beginning so that our one-to-one or group services can be tailored to meet their specific circumstances.

For this reason we work closely with children, young people, families and carers (and other local partners like teachers and local authorities), to agree, as far as possible what's needed and what changes they want to see in their lives.  It's much easier to make change happen when you know what you're aiming for.

Successful change could be a parent establishing family routines to ensure their children get to school, or a disabled child making friends by learning to communicate in different ways or it could be a young person overcoming substance abuse.

Measuring the difference

Our system and processes helps us understand the effectiveness of our services by collecting the data we need and helping us adapt appropriately. We use this data, together with listening to children, young people, their parents or carers so we can understand not only how many people we're supporting, but also the changes they're seeing in their lives as a result of our services.

Sharing our experience

Our strong evidence base also means we can share our work with other organisations who also believe that every child should have the love, support and opportunity they need to reach their potential, that they all deserve hope for their future.
