Jack McConnell is the longest serving First Minister of Scotland, in office from 2001 to 2007. He became a member of the House of Lords in June 2010, as Lord McConnell of Glenscorrodale. He served as Minister for Education, Minister for Europe, and Minister for External Affairs, from 2000 to 2001 and was Minister for Finance from 1999 to 2000. He was the MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw from 1999 to 2011 and was Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s Special Representative for Peace-building from 2008 to 2010.

As an Ambassador for us, he has supported our Neglect campaign and raised the findings of its report in the Scottish parliament.
