Julie Bentley announced she is to step down as chief executive of Action for Children.

Action for Children can confirm that Chief Executive Julie Bentley has resigned from the charity. She is stepping down for personal reasons. The Board of Trustees has accepted her resignation with sadness and thank her for her dedication and commitment over the past 18 months.

She has been an incredibly visible frontline chief exec inspiring staff across the UK and during her time, she’s led the work to develop a new brand, vision, mission and values as well as pioneering the launch of our Choose Childhood campaign.

The charity, which celebrated its 150th anniversary last year, will now begin the process of appointing an interim chief executive. Deputy CEO Carol Iddon will lead the organisation in the meantime.
