Adoption and Permanency Midlands

Adoption & Permanency Midlands is based in Birmingham. Our friendly team cover a 50 mile radius from our base. The team recruits adopters from this region and places children from all areas of the UK.

The service is aimed at meeting the needs of children for whom local authorities have difficulty in identifying adoptive families.  Recruitment is therefore targeted at those who are able to meet the needs of children of all ages but in particular:

  • children over three years of age;
  • groups of brothers and sisters;
  • children with disabilities / complex needs or circumstances and
  • those from Black, Asian and mixed parentage backgrounds.

Our experienced staff provide a prompt and informative response to all enquirers, including:

  • regular information events;
  • adopters preparation courses;
  • stage 1 and stage 2 training;
  • a thorough and full assessment and
  • post approval training and post adoption events.

Approved adopters receive high levels of support from their allocated social worker, receive a newsletter, twice-yearly social events and are invited to attend on-going training sessions.

Our Midlands team welcome enquiries from people from all backgrounds. What’s important to us is that what you have to offer matches the needs of the children we want to place for adoption. In our experience, children need adoptive families who recognise the importance of being patient, understanding and can offer reassurance, commitment and love to the children in their care. If you are unsure that you meet our requirements please talk to us about your individual circumstances.
